MAMT 2019 – Summary Report


With the Grace of Allah(SWT) The 2019 Mullah Asghar Memorial Tournament (MAMT) was really a fantastic sports festival held in extremely impressive multiple venues in Birmingham, held over Bank Holiday weekend of August 24th – 26th 2019 and saw over 2000 participants from all across UK and Europe, including Stanmore, Birmingham, Leicester, Hyderi, Peterborough, Leeds, Sweden, Milton Keynes, Switzerland , SICM, Essex, Wessex and guest appearances from Dubai and Africa battled to win the coveted trophies in various sports, which included Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis , Tennis, Snooker, Squash and Carom.

The event organized by COEJ MAMT team and managed and delivered by Masoomin Sports Club Birmingham and KSMI Birmingham Jamaat proved to one of the most exciting tournament MAMT has seen so far, with live stream coverage of some of the sports, live interviews with dignitaries, participants, and spectators making it an enjoyable and fun weekend for all.

Masoomin Sports Club Birmingham with their unwavering and dedicated volunteers delivered a world-class event with passion and professionalism. not surprising to see messages of praise and endless gratitude pouring for putting on such a great show in Birmingham. It really set the standard for all future tournaments and will be a difficult act to follow.


Over 480 participants, from 11 Jamaats gathered over the August bank holiday weekend in Birmingham, UK, to compete in 5 sports; Badminton, Football, Netball, Table Tennis and Swimming. It was a weekend full of competitive spirit, a chance to reconnect with sisters from other jamaats and witness some phenomenal level of abilities, from the young girls to those more senior.

The host Jamaat, KSIMC of Birmingham under the auspices of the Al-Najiyaat team delivered wonderful hospitality and a magnificent menu, catering to those even with the most difficult allergies.

Blessed with clear skies, and hot temperatures, the games were held without weather delays on both days. Culminating in the much-awaited moment of the tournament – the trophy presentation, it was wonderful to see the ladies and girls unite under the banner of CoEJ and in honour of Marhum Mulla Asgher M M Jaffer, for yet another successful albeit tiring MAMT. We are already looking forward to finding out what’s in store for MAMT 2020!
