A CPD Day on Palliative Care

On Sunday 8th June 2025, the Council of European Jamaats (CoEJ) held its highly anticipated Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Day on Palliative Care at the WF House in London.

The event brought together healthcare professionals, ulama, community support workers & key volunteers from many Jamaats. With participants from across Europe, as well community volunteers from North America and Africa for a deep dive into one of the most vital, yet often overlooked, areas of care—palliative care and end-of-life support.

The day was part of CoEJ’s broader Palliative Care Initiative, addressing a key manifesto pledge to bring structured, spiritually-aligned support to community members facing life-limiting illness.

The CPD day aimed to educate, empower, and initiate dialogue on the multifaceted aspects of palliative care, exploring both Islamic ethical perspectives and medical best practices

Global Participation & Positive Engagement

  • With participants from across Europe, as well community volunteers from North America and Africa the event proved to be a highly engaging and impactful experience. The panellists offered clarity on complex issues and affirmed the need for community-driven, Shariah-compliant guidance.
