Voicing our concerns regarding the House of Lords first reading of the UK Assisted Dying Bill

What is the Bill about?

The Assisted Dying Bill, which was formally introduced in the House of Lords for further scrutiny on Monday 23rd June 2025, will give terminally ill adults in England and Wales with six months to live, the legal right to end their lives with medical support

Why are we against it?

As Muslims, we reject and are opposed to this. We are very concerned about the impact this will have on the elderly and the terminally ill and that they may take steps to end their lives to reduce the burden on society and their loved ones.

Let’s stand together to protect the sanctity of life and advocate for compassionate care over assisted dying.

The bill is now being passed to House of Lords for further debate/scrutiny. This is your chance to voice your concerns.
